The wood roof--Paolo said a great many things about this roof and it's original beams, most of which we didn't understand. But we're pretty sure it's one of the architectual highlights of the structre. He was very proud of the building, and the way it's been maintained. He opened up several doors with original keys--each about six inches long and a good couple of pounds.
